Balance and mobility play an important role in helping older adults remain active, confident, and independent. Changes in strength, flexibility, and coordination can make everyday movements more difficult, but the right exercises can help older adults move more safely and comfortably.

Improve stability, posture, and overall body control

When I work one-on-one with an older adult, I focus on the strength and movement patterns they need for everyday activities such as walking, standing, turning, climbing stairs, and getting up from a chair.

Sessions may include mobility exercises, flexibility work, and controlled balance movements designed around each person’s abilities and needs. As clients improve, I adjust the exercises to continue challenging their balance, coordination, and movement safely.

Every exercise can be modified

When I work one-on-one with an older adult, I adjust each exercise to their abilities, comfort level, and everyday needs. I may use chairs, resistance bands, small weights, and other equipment to safely improve balance, strength, and mobility while helping clients feel secure and confident.

Improving balance and mobility can make everyday activities, such as getting out of a chair, climbing stairs, walking outdoors, or moving around the home—feel safer and easier.

My goal is to help each client move with greater confidence, maintain their independence, and continue doing the activities that are important to them.

DROM Fitness senior fitness classes also include balance and mobility exercises that can be modified for different fitness levels and abilities.
